Belly Blues

I am 34 weeks pregnant (8 months) and my belly has been taken over by an alien. When she moves, I have the urge to punch my stomach, because it feels like something is trying to push its way out of me. I can see her movements under my skin as she pushes against my organs and a few times I have been able to actually witness the outline of a foot, although the majority of the time, it is just a round mass that moves from side to side. It is painful and when I hear a mother tell me, “I miss feeling that.” I want to immediately have them evaluated for mental deficiencies. How can you miss this?

However, I am also still experiencing “morning sickness” which is a terrible term for it. I have not heard from anyone that it only happens during the morning. I get sick all the time, especially at night, after having to walk up a flight of stairs to get to my bed, only to throw up my dinner. I have even been to the hospital four times, kept overnight twice and all because this little brat doesn’t think food is important to surviving. Grrrr

I am happy to become a mom, but I hate the road to it. She better be cute and if she is a brat, I am sending her back.

I’ve shared elsewhere, but not on here. I’m having a little girl, whom I will be naming Jacqueline Dahl, in December. I’m excited, nervous, and overall looking forward to that moment I can finally say “I’m a mom.”

Mike says I look like Edward Sissorhands when he kisses me goodbye in the morning. That’s a compliment, right?

SOPA & PIPA

The blackout is done but that doesn’t mean we should end our battle to stop SOPA & PIPA. Remember to still spread the word to others, call your representatives, sign the petition and protect your Internet from censorship.

I find this fitting for the discussion I had with my husband this evening.
